HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 24 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla condemned today the Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's words during the UN General Assembly debates, which he considered an aggression against Cuba and Venezuela.
"I vigorously reject Bolsonaro's slander on Cuba and international medical cooperation. He is delirious and misses the military dictatorship. He should address corruption in his justice system, government and family. He is the leader of the increase in inequality in Brazil," the FM wrote in Twitter.
Bolsonaro initiated this Tuesday the debates of the UN General Assembly with a strong attack against Cuba and Venezuela, countries he referred to as 'dictatorships' that must be defeated.
The Brazilian ultra-rightist stated that it is a fallacy to say that the Amazon belongs to Mankind, and defended Brazil's full sovereignty over the tropical rainforest.
He referred to the nearly 10.000 Cuban doctors who, until late last year, were working in Brazil through cooperation plans signed by previous governments and which Cuba decided to withdraw after Bolsonaro's criticism to its authorities.
Rodriguez Parrilla also stated in the same social media that lie characterizes U.S. President Donald Trump's administration.
"Unacceptable accusations Pdte Trump vs #Cuba and Venezuela. The use of lies characterizes his administration. Sticking to the Monroe doctrine and McCarthyism. He speaks like an emperor. 158 congressmen ask for his impeachment. He tries to mislead the world and Americans. Boring, not a contender with Greta Thungber #UNGA," the Cuban minister said on Twitter, referring to the president's speech at the UN.
Trump attacked on Tuesday against countries that he considers a threat to U.S. interests and that do not fit into Washington's model of democracy or accept the pressures of his government, such as Iran, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
