Havana, Sep 10 (ACN) The First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, sent a congratulation message on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9 to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Raul reaffirmed in his letter the high value that Cuba attributes to the ties with Pyongyang, and assured that they are based on the special relations between its leaders, according to a report of the Cuban Television News.
For his part, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez also congratulated the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the occasion, on behalf of the Cuban people and Government.
Cuba and the DPRK established diplomatic relations on August 29, 1960, and since then they have held fraternal ties, based on mutual respect and admiration, established by the friendship of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the great leader Kim Il Sun.
