Cuba-Algeria Intergovernmental Commission to meet

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 19 (ACN) Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, arrived in Algiers, the capital of Algeria, at the head of a large delegation from the Island that will participate in the XXII session of the Cuba-Algeria Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Commercial, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on his arrival at Houari Boumedienne International Airport, Malmierca was received by the Algerian Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Mokhtar Hasbellaoui, who will preside over the delegation of the North African nation.

The working sessions of the Intergovernmental Commission will begin this Tuesday, February 19, and will conclude next Thursday, February 21.

Government sources indicated that it will be a vital space to continue strengthening the historical ties of brotherhood, solidarity and fraternity, and to continue fostering and diversifying economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

Biotechnology, water resources, sports, agriculture, basic and higher education, as well as the promotion of foreign trade and foreign investment, are part of the areas of exchange between the two nations that established diplomatic relations in 1962.
