Cuban researchers will analyze U.S.-Cuba relationsHAVANA, Cuba, June 4 (ACN) Several dozen Cuban researchers and professors will debate for two days at the 2018 Conference on Hemispheric and U.S. Studies on relations between Cuba and the United States, in the context of the current international situation.

Organized by the Center for Hemispheric and U.S. Studies (Cehseu) and the Chair of Our America at the University of Havana, the event will take place for three days, in the 290th Anniversary Hall of the Enrique José Varona Events Center on the University of Havana.
According to the information provided by the organizing committee to the Cuban News Agency, the event aims to publicize the main results of the research work of the Cehseu and related centers, on topics such as foreign policy and relations between Havana and Washington.
In six panels, the island's scientists will address domestic political processes and U.S. public policy, as well as changing trends in Latin American and Caribbean governments and U.S. strategy toward the region.
They will also address contemporary historical processes and the external projection of the US during the current administration of President Donald Trump.
In this first edition they will present works derived from studies carried out in the most recent period and others that emanate from ongoing research, such as partial results or analytical advances that report on processes in deployment.
The Center for Hemispheric and U.S. Studies at the University of Havana was created in 1987 and brings together professors and researchers in various disciplines of the social sciences and has staff to support scientific and research, teaching and extension activities.
The group of academics is made up of highly professional researchers and professors who study different aspects of U.S. political and socioeconomic life, as well as its foreign policy, particularly towards Cuba and inter-American relations.
