HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 25 (ACN) The Malaysia-Cuba Friendship Association ratified on Wednesday its solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and its people which have demonstrated the capacity of political and economic renovation.
The statement was made during the celebration of the 8th annual meeting of the organization, held in Kuala Lumpur, according to Prensa Latina News Agency.
The participants sent a congratulations message to the new Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel and reiterated its support to the Caribbean nation and its fight against the US blockade and all its main battles.
The assembly discussed the organizations work during 2017, analyzed the current and upcoming activities and reelected its president Fahmy Khai for the third consecutive year.
Cuba's ambassador in Malaysia, Ibete Fernandez who assisted as guest in the meeting highlighted the organization's work and urged its members to join forces to expand its work in disseminating the Cuban reality.
On elections in Cuba, the diplomat assured that the process was held in a total normal environment and it's a continuity and commitment with the legacy of its heroes and martyrs.
The Cuban ambassador pointed out that the event has a special significance because it coincides with the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the independence wars demonstrating the path to emancipation for the Cuban people.
