HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 13 (ACN) Members of the Cuban and Venezuelan civil societies protested the anti-democratic nature of a meeting Thursday with high-level representatives of the governments attending the event.
Both the Venezuelan and Cuban delegations slash out against the presence in the forum of people of Cuban origin who do not really represent Cuban civil society.
But the method used by the continental summit organizers to pick speakers and participants in that event privileged some speakers better than others, which raised numerous and strong complaints, according to a report by PL news agency from Lima, Peru.
The scheduled meeting aimed at having the government officials receiving suggestions, demands and denunciations by all 28 civil society coalitions in the event, about democratic governability, corruption and sustainable development.
On Wednesday, the Cuban delegates attending the 5th Forum on Youth denounced the accreditation in that event of three persons who are not legitimate representatives of Cuba.
