HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 28 (ACN) Cuban ambassador at the European Union, Norma Goicochea, subscribed on behalf of the Cuban Government the Founding Accord of the European Union-Latin America and Caribbean International Foundation.
The signing ceremony took place March 27 at the European Council in Brussels, according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry's webpage.
The Founding Accord, adopted October 2016, establishes that the International Foundation promotes the strengthening of bi-regional relations between the European Union and its member states as was the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
The international organization is based Hamburg, Germany and its current president is Leonel Fernandez, former head of state of the Dominican Republic.
