Cuba Continues to be an Example Says Island's AmbassadorManagua, Nicaragua, Jul 18 (ACN) Cuba's Ambassador to Nicaragua, Juan Carlos Hernandez said on Tuesday in Managua that Cuba continues to be an example of dignity, resistance and heroism.

In an exclusive interview with the Cuban News Agency, he offered details on the activities carried out by the Cuban delegation that participated in the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum in Managua.

He said that during the second day, participants paid tribute to Commanders Carlos Fonseca and Tomas Borge in the park where their remains lay to rest.

Later, the member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Jose Ramon Balaguer visited the Cuban embassy in Managua, met with the members of the diplomatic mission, and exchanged ideas on the current situation in the region and the recently concluded ordinary session of the Cuban National Assembly.

Balaguer was welcomed by the Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada and ratified the close historic ties between both nations.

Balaguer thanked Nicaragua's years of support to the struggle of the Cuban people against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the island.

The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister recognized the importance of Cuba's contribution in health, education, culture and sports sectors and its commitment to expand those ties in other areas like economic-commercial.

The also head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, visited the headquarters of the Nicaraguan National Assembly where he was welcomed by Dr. Gustavo Porras, head of the legislative body and granted Jose Ramon Balaguer the Friendship Medal.

This was a special moment where both spoke on the priorities in both countries' Parliaments highlighting important forums like Parlatino and Parlacen in the case of Nicaragua, above all in the fight against coup attempts in several progressive governments in the region, said the Cuban ambassador.

The head of the Cuban delegation also participated in the Parliamentarian Workshop of the 23rd Meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo that was held at the Nicaraguan Legislative body. That afternoon the participants paid tribute to the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chavez, Legendary Guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and the 100th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution.

Regarding the participation of the Cuban delegation to the forum, Hernandez pointed out that everyone had an active participation in the different spaces in the forum, women, Parliament, Youth, the Cuban Peace Movement, and Organization in Solidarity with the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America among others.

Cuba's contributions are important because we feel responsible to a certain point in guiding the destinies of the region, to achieve what we need: unity, unity and unity, concluded the Ambassador.
