Evo Morales enjoys excellent health after undergo surgery in Havana
HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 7 (acn) Bolivian President Evo Morales enjoys excellent health after surgery on the vocal cords he underwent six days ago in the Havana, said Iván Mérida, Minister Counselor of that nation on the Caribbean island.
The diplomat of the Andean nation told ACN that the operation was a success, and added that the president has to rest for at least a week, as recommended by his doctors.
He has had to limit his usual activities, but is ready to go to the next soccer match, as he longs to do on every visit he makes to Cuba, said Mérida.
He assured that Morales enjoys excellent health and will continue working for the Bolivians, as an important figure for the South American region.
On Thursday, Morales used the social networks to congratulate Ecuador´s President Rafael Correa on his 54th birthday.
He also thanked "the solidarity, blessings, rites, prayers of the hearts of the people" that give strength to continue working, and concluded his message assuring that "Bolivia is our life."
Mérida pointed out that the President is taking due care, and disqualified the wave of lies through social networks on the health of the Bolivian leader.
Evo Morales was operated in Havana last Saturday, surgery that lasted 20 minutes, and was described as a success by the medical team who removed a small cyst detected a month ago in his vocal cords.
Since then the president has kept a strict voice rest, although he has had a systematic presence through his account on Twitter (@evoespueblo); sent messages to his people and condemned the gross maneuvers of the Organization of American States (OAS) against his country.
