Fourteen countries confirmed at Cubagua 2017 ConventionHavana, Feb 17 (ACN) The 2nd Cubagua 2017 International Convention to be held from March 21st to the 24th at Havana's Convention Center will have the participation of 14 countries.

Germany, China, Canada, Denmark, Spain, United States, France, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico and Cuba will be on hand to exchange knowledge and the promotion of technologies associated to water management.
Ana Lydia Hernandez, member of the Organizing Committee also said that 57 foreign companies have confirmed to assist to exhibit products and equipment as a parallel activity at Pabexpo Exhibition Hall.
The Convention with China as the guest nation at the event will have four theoretical events among them the 1st Workshop on Integrated Management of Water Basins on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Cuban Basin Councils.
The 13th International Congress on Water Engineering, the 9th Seminar on the Integral Use of Water and the 2nd Technical-Commercial Symposium will also be held paralleled to the event.
Rafael Feito, President of the Society of Water Engineering of the National Association of Architects and Engineers of Cuban Construction (UNAICC), said that 162 works in the theoretical event will be presented in addition to master conferences and speeches from foreign representatives.
Among the collateral activities will be technical visits to places of interests in the Mariel Special Development Zone and the Albear Aqueduct while the International Technology Novelty Prize will be given to relevant products.
The themes will be about water supply and environmental sanitation, maintenance of water sites, the vital use of the precious liquid for the population and agriculture, in addition to industry and energy generation.
The representatives will also discuss the integral management of the water basins, the protection of soils and forests, in addition to the impact of climate change in those areas.
Under the slogan, "Water Challenges before Climate Change, Cubagua 2017 the event is sponsored by the National Institute of Water Resources and Society of Water Engineering of the UNAICC with the support of the Chapingo Autonomous University in Mexico and other Cuban and foreign entities.
