HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 22 (acn) The leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz was honored on Wednesday in Grenada on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of relations between the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Cuba.
In the activity, organized by the Cuban Embassy in that country, the member of the Friendship Association between the two countries, Terence Marryshow, emphasized the role of Fidel in the training of thousands of professionals in the Caribbean.
Granma newspaper reports that Marryshow highlighted the solidarity and collaboration offered by the Cuban government and people in different sectors, despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade by the United States for more than half a century.
In addition, Nickolas Steele, Grenadian Health Minister, referred to Fidel's historic legacy in the region and around the world, and praised the aid provided by Cuba in areas such as health care, education and construction.
The Cuban ambassador in Saint George, Maria Caridad Balaguer, thanked the countless signs of solidarity received from the government and people of Grenada.
