Grenadian PM: Fidel will stay important for the CaribbeanHAVANA, Cuba, Dec 2 (acn) More expressions of condolence by political figures, the press and civil society for the death of the leader of the Cuban revolution emanate from Saint George's, Grenada, while the ashes of Fidel Castro travel around Cuba in national tribute, Prensa Latina news agency reported.

When signing the book of condolences opened at the Cuban embassy, Grenada's Prime Minister Keith Mitchell said Fidel was a true friend and will continue to be an important figure not only in Cuba's history but in our region.

Mitchell recalled moments of his visit to the sister nation in April 1997 and that of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution in August 1998.

The governor-general Cecile La Grenada, as well as several ministers and professionals graduated in Cuba also signed the book.

The group included the Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Claris Modeste, who graduated as physician in Cuban in 1986.

The Grenadian delegation to the massive tribute was headed by Elvin Nimrod, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister.
