NAM Summit to kick off in Margarita Island, Venezuela

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 13 (acn) The seventeenth Summit of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM) kicks off today in Margarita Island, where Venezuela will take the presidency of the bloc from Iran.

The summit will has the Venetur hotel as venue for six days, where representatives from the 120 countries that make up the organization will talk about alliances to be made to face the challenges of the current world
The agenda includes talks on the new economic world order, information, world safety and human rights, under the motto United on the path of peace
The member countries will discuss situation in the Middle East, and the interference of the United States in the internal affairs of Latin American nations
The General Director of Multilateral Affairs and International Law of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pedro Núñez Mosquera, said his country will defend in the summit the free determination, independence and sovereignty of all countries.
