Sixth Round of Cuba EU Talks Concludes in FranceHAVANA, Cuba, Dec 3 (acn) The sixth round of talks between Cuba and the European Union concluded on Wednesday with an agreement on trade and closed negotiations on cooperation and dialogue on sector policies, pointed out the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX).

Met in Paris on December 1 and 2, the negotiating teams were headed by Christian Leffler, Deputy Secretary General for Economic and Global Affairs of the European External Action Service, and Abelardo Moreno, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba.
Regarding the chapter on political dialogue, profound exchanges that made it possible to bring numerous positions closer were held, pointed out MINREX.
The sixth round of negotiations on the Agreement of Political Dialogue and Cooperation took place in a constructive and professional atmosphere, on the basis that both sides agreed in 2008, referring to unconditional, reciprocal and non-discriminatory nature; full respect for the sovereign equality of States, the legal framework and the institutional order of the parties; as well as total adherence to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of States.
The two parties reaffirmed their willingness to continue making progress in this process, with a view to concluding negotiations as soon as possible.
The Cuban and European representatives agreed to meet again in the first months of 2016 in Havana, in order to hold the seventh round of negotiations.
