HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 19 (ACN) “We Cubans residing abroad are united by our commitment to our native land,” said Vicente Amor, vice president of ASC International USA, based in Tampa, United States, who was invited to the 4th Conference “Nación y Emigración” in Havana.
“Regardless of our viewpoints and ways of thinking, the points of view or nuances in thought, thinking Cuba is our common denominator. (…) I am here because it would be a crime to ignore that this is my birthplace, which made us human beings with our own culture and identity; that’s what unites us: homeland, sovereignty, independence.”
Attended by 361 guests from 54 countries after a 19-year-long break, “Nación…” stemmed from the efforts made in 1978 by Commander Fidel Castro, leader of the Cuban Revolution, to promote dialogue among Cubans everywhere.
