Cuba and Mexico Share Strong Historical Bonds

 Havana, Oct 11 (ACN) The launching of an online historical and diplomatic collection by Mexico’s Foreign Relations Secretary on Wednesday and in the presence of representatives of Cuban academic institutions stressed the bilateral willingness to further enrich both countries’ historical memory.

The on-line site, set up in tune with cooperation accords between the Mexican secretary and the Cuban institutes of History and Foreign Relations, allows accessing audio records and publications about bilateral diplomatic links.

History has been a priority issue for the administration of Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, said Mexican ambassador to Chile Laura Moreno during the announcement at Havana’s International Press Center.

Cuba has been the scenario where the Mexican Foreign Office has signed most of its accords related to cultural cooperation, preservation of digital patrimony and its access, Moreno said.

The online site treasures digital collections which include magazines like Tuxpan, and other renowned publications, and along with that a renowned radio program aired since 1932, as well as voice records of popular Latin American figures.

Mexican ambassador to Havana Miguel Diaz said that the initiative mas a dream come true related to the bilateral accords aimed at recovering the historic memory and understand the present and the future of Mexico and Cuba.
