La Habana, Aug 28 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived in Cuba Monday afternoon after winding up a tour of several African countries, the Presidency of the Republic of Cuba announced on social media.
Diaz-Canel was welcomed at Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and vice-president Salvador Valdes.
The President and his delegation started their African tour in Angola on August 19 and continued to visit Mozambique and Namibia.
The head of state also participated at the 15th Summit of the BRICS alliance (originally set up by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) which took place in South Africa. Diaz-Canel attended the Summit as pro-tempore president of the Group of 77 plus China.
