Díaz-Canel met with Cubans based in Belgium

 HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 16 (ACN) In what he described as “a family reunion”, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel met with Cubans living in Belgium, representatives of political and Cuba solidarity organizations, and the Cuban delegation to the Summit of the Peoples.

“We are very grateful to be part of this great family,” he told those who have embraced the Cuban cause and made it part of their lives.

Díaz-Canel referred to the current situation in the Island, affected by the tightening of the U.S. blockade. He also described the difficult days that Cuba went through during the pandemic and the achievements of its scientists.

This was Díaz-Canel's first event in Brussels, where he arrived to participate in both the 3rd EU-CELAC Summit and the Summit of the Peoples, which will be held in parallel.
