Cuban president sends good health wishes to his Portuguese counterpart

 HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 7 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, wished his Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, good health.

According to local media, the Portuguese president suffered an indisposition while visiting a university in Costa da Caparica and was taken to a hospital in Santa Cruz, in Oeiras, a municipality neighboring Lisbon, the capital, where he underwent medical tests.

Fernando Frutuoso de Melo, head of the President's Civil House, explained to the press that the President quickly recovered consciousness.

Rebelo de Sousa has been president of Portugal since 2016 and is currently in his second term.
