Havana, Feb 13 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, Cuba’s Communist Party First Secretary and Cuban President thanked his Mexican counterpart Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador for his rejection against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the island nation.
On his Twitter account, https://bit.ly/3XrjQF5 the Cuban President expressed his gratitude for Lopez Obrador’s statements about his affection for Cuba. The head of state also shared a video of the Mexican President giving his usual morning press conference, in which he condemns the US policy against Cuba.
Diaz-Canel said that the blockade must be addressed as a crucial human rights-related issue because it undoubtedly is a violation of those rights; nobody can block a people for political and ideological reasons; it is inhumane, he noted.
Lopez Obrador also recalled the international community’s overwhelming support of the Cuban resolution demanding the end of the US blockade, every year, since 1992, at the United Nations General Assembly.
