HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 21 (ACN) Najat Mokhtar, deputy director general and head of the department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), begins her first official activities in Havana today.
Mokhtar arrived last Saturday an Monday she will hold a meeting with the presidency of the Agency for Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies (AENTA by its Spanish acronym), headed by Master of Science Gladys Lopez Bejerano, as well as with other national institutions, among them the Office of Regulation and Environmental Safety (ORSA by its Spanish acronym).
She will also hold meetings with the directors of several ministries, among them the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as with the representation of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), accredited in Havana.
Dr. Mokhtar is Moroccan and is making her first visit to Cuba in her capacity as Deputy Director General and head of the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
