Cuba wishes former Paraguayan President a speedy recovery

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 14 (ACN) Esteban Lazo, President of the National Assembly of People's Power, wished a speedy recovery and conveyed his solidarity to former Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo, who suffered a stroke and is receiving intensive care in Asuncion, the Paraguayan capital city.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, a statement issued by the doctor and left-wing senator Jorge Querey explained that Lugo had been getting better and showing stable and encouraging signs of recovery, although he is kept sedated and monitored for 72 hours, given his serious condition.

Lugo, who is 71 years old, is a senator for the Guasú Front and was president of Paraguay from 2008 to 2012.
