HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 15 (ACN) Cuba ratified its willingness to continue consolidating the existing historical ties with the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as the ties of cooperation and friendship that unite both nations, on a day that marks the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Cuban Foreign Ministry celebrated on Twitter the new anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with that country located in the equatorial region of Africa.
"Cuba celebrates the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Democratic Republic of #Congo. We ratify our will to continue consolidating the existing historical ties, as well as the ties of cooperation and friendship," the tweet refers.
The governments of Havana and Kinshasa established relations on April 15, 1964 and since the beginning of their ties, both countries have advocated for the increase of friendly relations and cooperation.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is a country in Central Africa that is considered one of the giants of the continent due to its vast territory, a population of over 90 million inhabitants and enormous natural wealth.
In this great African land, Cuba is recognized for its resistance to the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, as well as its firmness in the face of imperialist aggressions and pressures.
