Obama Has only Stiffened US Blockade against CubaHAVANA, Cuba, Oct 9 (acn) The US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba has been stiffened under the Obama administration with the growing persecution of transactions by banks that have made business with Cuba.

During a video conference on this issue, Andres Zaldivar, a specialist with the Cuban State Security's Historic Research Center, said that the measures are part of Washington's Intelligent Power policy.

Between 2010 and 2014, a total of 130 extraterritorial actions against Cuba were undertaken, with 81 of them in the financial sector, while 38 entities were fined with the huge figure of over 11.4 billion dollars.

Such measures are even taken against entities from countries that are allies of the United States, such as the French BNP Paribas bank, which was imposed an over 8.9 billion dollars.

But the US strategy also includes the financing of the US International Development Agency (USAID) to implement subversive programs based on the new information technologies, like Zunzuneo and Piramideo.
