HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (ACN) Ralph Gonsalves, St. Vincent and the Grenadines PM, called today not to forget who we are, to keep in mind that history that defines the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, and is essential for the ALBA-TCP.
Gonsalves was speaking at the 20th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of Our America-People's Trade Treaty, which is taking place in Havana, where he stressed that we have to make use of that memory in current conditions, to work together in solidarity, so as not to discredit our future.
Before President Miguel Diaz-Canel and the heads of delegations attending the meeting, he expressed his confidence and security in the Cuban anti-COVID-19 vaccines, even though the population of St. Vincent and the Grenadines could have access to those of other countries.
We are here in a very complicated global moment of great contradictions, he said in reference to the impact of the epidemic, the world economic crisis, climate change and international and local conflicts, so he suggested working to find the best way to solve them, including through dialogue with the largest economic and military power in the world: the United States of America.
The head of government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines told how in his conversations with U.S. friends he has defended the causes of the nations of the region, including those of Cuba and Nicaragua, and in this sense he took the opportunity to reiterate his congratulations to President Daniel Ortega, as well as to the presidents of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, and Bolivia, Luis Arce, for the electoral victories they have achieved.
In another part of his speech, expressed that a sanction against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, by the United States, also affects some Caribbean islands, and gave as an example Petrocaribe, or the fact that we cannot receive loans from the World Bank in which the imperialist power contributes money.
