Algerian Health Minister received Cuban Ambassador in that African country

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 9 (ACN) Abderrahmane Benbouzid, Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, received Armando Vergara, Cuban ambassador to that African country, at the ministry's headquarters in the Algerian capital.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of health for the benefit of both peoples, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on its website.
The note adds that the exchange addressed the epidemiological situation the world is currently facing as a result of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in addition to the Cuban and Algerian experience in confronting the virus.
Both parties congratulated each other on the excellent state of bilateral relations in the field of health, highlighting the work carried out by the Cuban Medical Brigade, which provides services in various Algerian communities.
Benbouzid was accompanied by officials from his ministry; while the Cuban side also included Mirta Rippes, economic and commercial advisor, and Dr. Reinaldo Menendez, head of the Cuban Medical Mission in Algeria.
