Cuba and Mozambique mark 45 years of diplomatic relations


HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 28 (ACN) This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Mozambique, therefore in this East African country the aforementioned date was celebrated in a ceremony that was attended by Armindo Tiago, Minister of Health of that nation, and Cuban Ambassador Pavel Diaz.

According to the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Tiago highlighted the contribution of Cuban workers in different spheres of economic and social development in Mozambique, as well as the training of thousands of young people in the Caribbean island.
He expressed that in the most complex moments, Cuba has supported his people, the most recent example was after the passage of cyclones Idai and Kenneth with the sending of a Henry Reeve medical brigade.
During the ceremony, broadcast live on Mozambican TV, the Cuban diplomat recognized the existing brotherhood between the two peoples, proven during more than four decades in which undeniable changes have taken place in the world.
Diaz said that there is still much to advance in terms of cooperation, especially in the economic-commercial area.
On August 1975, representatives of Cuba and Mozambique signed the agreement that began a history of cooperation, solidarity and brotherhood between both peoples, led by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and President Samora Machel.
