Japanese parliamentary leader reiterates friendship with CubaHAVANA, Dec 11 (ACN) The Vice President of the House of Representatives of Japan, Akamatsu Hirotaka received today the Cuban Ambassador, Miguel Angel Ramirez, in his office at the National Diet Building, in Tokyo.

During the meeting, Hirotaka and Ramirez recalled the long friendship of the Japanese politician with Cuba since his visit in 2010, the first of a Japanese minister active to the Caribbean nation.
The ambassador reiterated his gratitude for the decisive support of the parliamentary leader for the progress of bilateral relations, which are about to celebrate their 90th anniversary, as well as the welcome given in his own residence to the Vice President of the Council of Ministers, Roberto Morales, on the occasion of his visit to Japan in late October to participate in the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito.
In this regard, they both agreed on the need to foster new high-level visits aimed at strengthening political dialogue.
For his part, Hirotaka ratified his support for the Cuban claim for the urgent end of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade, position that the Japanese government has consistently kept for more than two decades.
