Cuban Sierra ranked fourth in last UCI Women's World Tour race

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 23 (acn) Cuban Arlenis Sierra ranked fourth in the race of the Women's World Tour based in Guangxi, China, and although could not repeat the victory as last year, she closed the 2019 season in the Astana Women's Team with another outstanding performance.

The 145.8-km race was won by Australian Chloe Hosking (Ale Cipollini) with time of 3 hours, 48 minutes and 56 seconds, same time of her escorts, Canadian Alison Jackson (TIBC - SVB) and Dutch Marianne Vos (CCC-LIV) respectively, according to the website of the International Cycling Association (UCI by its French acronym).
The medalists earned 200, 150 and 125 points in that order to the UCI ranking while Sierra added 100 units, which will help her to remain among the first ones in the list that grants the cyclists qualified to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Liliana Moreno, Colombia´s national champion and member of the Astana, finished 52nd, while the also Cubans Yeima Torres and Heidy Praderas ranked 54th and 76th in that order.
Arlenis, captain of the Kazakh club based in Italy, finishes thus an extensive and rewarding 2019 season with races and competitions in Europe, America and Australia, in which she climbed to the podium almost 20 times, including the title in the road event at the Pan American Games of Lima.
