HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 23 (acn) A solo homer by Cuban Yurisbel Gracial and three runs driven in by his compatriot Alfredo Despaigne placed the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks only one step shy from winning the 2019 Japan Series after defeating away 6-2 the Yomiuri Giants.

Gracial thus achieved his second home run and third RBI in the final in five at-bats (AB), thus reducing his batting average (BA) to .333.
Meanwhile, Despaigne batted his first two hits of the series in three ABs, to raise his BA to .250 and his RBI total to three.
The also Cuban Livan Moinelo did not allow hits or runs in one frame to maintain his ERA in the final at 0.00.
This result allows the Hawks to take advantage of 3-0 in the series to the best of seven games as they won 7-2 and 6-3 the first two matches of this 2019 Japan Series.
The fourth game will be held today at the Tokyo Dome.
