Cuban Jasiel Rivero to play in Spanish basketball top flightHAVANA, Cuba, Sep 6 (acn) Cuban Jasiel Rivero met one of his dreams of playing in the European basketball when changing the Argentine club of Boca Juniors for the San Pablo Burgos, which belongs to the Spanish first division.

This will be the first time in which two Cuban players will be enrolled in the same season in this prestigious league as in addition to Rivero, the center/power forward Javier Justiz will be playing his second year with the Tecnyconta Zaragoza.
Rivero, who is 25 and 2.06 meters high, will be arriving to Spain in the coming days to join the club, Albano Martinez, senior executive of the squad, told the Diario de Burgos journal.
The outstanding Cuban player already belonged to this side since last season, although the coaching staff decided to loan him to the Boca Juniors, where his performance was considered relevant as he was part of the All-Star team of the Argentine tournament.
He was chosen as best PF of the regular stage after being the top scorer of the season with 707 points in 37 games, for an average of 19.1.
He also headed the stat of free throws made with 165 and ranked seventh in blocks with 37. He was also second in fouls received with 220 and tenth in time on the court with 145 minutes, 31 per game.
Rivero accumulates experience in foreign leagues as he has played outside Cuba since 2015 in different teams such as the Club Atlético Tabaré, from Uruguay; Argentina´s Estudiantes Concordia and the aforementioned Boca Juniors.
His countryman Justiz had a good performance last year when qualifying to postseason and reaching the quarterfinals in his debut in the ACB.
