Cubans for their third win in Boys´ U19 World Volleyball ChampionshipsHAVANA, Cuba, Aug 23 (acn) Cuba will try today to remain undefeated in Group A of the 2019 FIVB Boys´ U19 World Volleyball Championships when facing Chinese Taipei.

After defeating Tunisia 3-0 (25-22, 25-14 and 25-18) in the debut, Cubans then beat 3-2 (23-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18 and 27-25) Brazil and today they will look for their third victory.
Against Brazilians, Cuba´s best players were opposite spiker Eduardo Hernandez and middle blocker Luis Vidal, who scored 22 and 20 points, respectively, while Darian Ferreira, top scorer of the match with 30 units, and Paulo Vinicio Ferreira (16) stood out for the losing side.
The Caribbean team will rest tomorrow and on Sunday they will clash with Belarus on the closing day of the preliminary stage.
In the other match of this Group A, Tunisia beat Belarus 3-2 and the Pool is now led by Cubans with two wins and no loss, followed by Belarus (1-1), Tunisia (1-1), Brazil (0-1) and Chinese Taipei (0-1).
Also yesterday Italy and Iran defeated 3-0 and 3-1 Czech Republic and Bulgaria respectively, in Pool B, while in the C, Egypt and Japan beat 3-1 and 3-0 Argentina and Mexico, in that order.
Finally, in Group D, South Korea won 3-1 over United States and Russia surpassed 3-0 the Dominican Republic.
The 2019 FIVB Boys´ U19 World Volleyball Championship is attended by 20 squads and the best four teams of each of the four pools advance to the round of 16.
