HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 21 (acn) Exchanges with Daichi Suzuki, head of the Japan Sports Agency, Norifumi Yamamoto, head of the Gymnastics Association of that country, were the most recent actions of the Cuban delegation visiting the city of Tokyo.
"It predominated the interest in strengthening bilateral relations and contributing to the preparation of Cuba towards the 2020 Olympic Games," Osvaldo Vento, Cuba´s president of INDER, wrote in his twitter account.
The Caribbean official described both moments as "profitable", added to others equally praised by him and his companions: Roberto León Richards, president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, Jorge Polo Vazquez, INDER vice-president, and Carlos Miguel Pereira, Cuban ambassador in Japan.
Vento reiterated to Suzuki the purpose of deepening ties between their entities and the invitation for Japan to attend the 7th AFIDE International Convention, scheduled for next November, in Havana.
Meanwhile, Suzuki recalled with satisfaction a recent visit to the capital of the Caribbean island, where he met with sports authorities and glories, and noted the progress of several specialties despite economic restrictions.
He was also interested in the participation of Cuba in the next Olympics, including the steps taken with the cities that will host the training bases of the Caribbean squads.
