HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 7 (acn) Cuba continued in seventh seat of the medal table of the 18th Pan American Games, taking place until next Sunday at the Peruvian capital city.
The Cuban delegation so far accumulates 15 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze medals, thus remaining the position of the previous day, but with one more title reached by Yaime Perez, who even set a Pan Am record in the women´s discus throw event.
The United States (61-49-43) remains leader followed by Brazil (25-21-39), Canada (24-39-32), Mexico (22-19-37), Argentina (16- 18-17) and Colombia (16-12-18).
Behind Cuba then appear Peru (7-6-10), Chile (5-9-8), Dominican Republic (4-6-10), Ecuador (4-6-8), Puerto Rico (4-2-6), Venezuela (3-3-7), Trinidad and Tobago (2-1-1), Guatemala (1-3-4), Jamaica (1-2-2) and British Virgin Islands (1-0-0), the other 10 countries that have won titles.
Bolivia (0-1-1), Paraguay (0-1-1), Uruguay (0-1-1), Nicaragua (0-0-3), Costa Rica (0-0-2), Antigua and Barbuda (0-0-1), Costa Rica (0-0-1) and El Salvador (0-1-1) complete the 24 nations –out of 41, which have at least earned a medal.
