
HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 30 (acn) Cuba woke up today in the sixth place of the medal table of the 18th Pan American Games taking place until August 11 in Lima, Peruvian capital.
The Cuban delegation has so far accumulated five gold, five silver and four bronze medals, thus improving the seventh seat in which they had finished on Saturday (3-2-2).
The United States (18-17-10) remain on top of the standings, followed by Mexico (12-6-14), Brazil (8-6-13), Colombia (7-6-6) and Argentina (7 -3-5), occupants of the best five positions, respectively.
Behind Cuba then appear Canada (4-17-12), Peru (3-2-3), the Dominican Republic (2-2-6), Venezuela (2-1-2), Ecuador (1-2-5), Puerto Rico (1-1-1) and Guatemala (1-1-0), nations that complete the list of 13 that have at least won one title.
Chile (0-3-5) and Costa Rica (0-0-1) are the two other countries who have earned medals.
