Cuban Despaigne hits his 21 homer in Japan

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 24 (acn) Cuban Alfredo Despaigne blasted his 21st homer in the 11-7 win of his club, the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, over the Chiba Lotte Marines, in the Pacific League of the Japanese Professional Baseball (NPB).

In this game, The Caribbean slugger batted 3 for 3, with two runs scored and one RBI.
Thus, he increased his batting average (BA) to .262 and his RBIs to 51, respectively.
His compatriot and teammate, lefty setup reliever Livan Moinelo, pitched a scoreless inning allowing one single to reduce his ERA to 1.43.
Moinelo will leave directly from Japan to Lima, Peru, to join the Cuba team that will try to regain the Pan-American scepter that the Caribbean side doesn´t win since Rio 2007.
