Cuban duos to debut in Beach Volleyball World Championship

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 28 (acn) The Cuban duos of Leila Martinez-Maylen Delis and Sergio Gonzalez-Luis Enrique Reyes will debut today on the first day of the 2019 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship, based in Hamburg, Germany.

According to the website of the contest, Martinez and Delis were included in the women´s event Pool F and will face Brazilians Agatha Bednarczuk and Eduarda Santos, who are the 6th seed of the tournament; while Gonzalez and Reyes appear in the men´s Pool A and will also have an extremely tough rivals in Norwegians Anders Mol and Christian Sorum, first seed of the competition and current leaders of the world tour ranking.
The next two matches will be against pairs from China and Japan, in the women's event, and from Brazil and Germany, in the men's contest.
The main goal of the Cuban duets is to continue training for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games to take place from July 26 to August 11.
