Cuba to participate in Women´s U18 Pan American Volleyball Cup

HAVANA, Cuba, May 17 (acn) Cuba will attend from next May 21-26 the 5 th Women´s U18 Pan American Volleyball Cup, based in Durango, Mexico, tournament that will grant one ticket to the this year world cup to be held in Egypt.

According to the contest's website, there will be eight teams involved and only Mexico already earned its berth to the WC, so the fight for the solo ticket will be among Cuba, Guatemala, Puerto Rico and Peru, in Pool B, and Chile, the DR and Honduras (Pool A).
The first match-day includes the games Chile-DR and Mexico-Honduras (A), and Guatemala-Puerto Rico and Peru-Cuba (B).
The leader of each will advance directly to semifinals, while the 2 nd and 3rd best team of each pool will go to quarterfinals.
The fourth edition was held in 2017 in Havana and the gold, silver and bronze medals went to Colombia, Cuba and the DR, respectively.
