HAVANA, Cuba, May 17 (acn) Cuban Yurisbel Gracial hit twice, including a homer, to in the 5-1 win of his team, the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, over the Saitama Seibu Lions, in match of the Pacific League of the Japanese Professional Baseball (NPB).
Gracial drove in 3 runs, to take his total to 14 in the season, also raised his batting average (BA) to .373, and now amounts 6 home runs.
In that same game, his teammate and also Cuban Alfredo Despaigne batted 1 for 3, with a walk, thus raising his BA to .261.
The Hawks, where it also plays another Cuban, lefty setuper Livan Moinelo, appear on top of the standings in the Pacific League with 22 wins, 17 losses and 2 draws, best average so far the season of the entire NPB.
