HAVANA, Cuba, May 15 (acn) Erisbel Arruebarruena, member of the Cuban team to the 2013 World Baseball Classic, was the main attraction in the first training session of the Matanzas Crocodiles facing the 59th Cuban National Baseball Series (SNB by its Spanish acronym).

The outstanding shortstop, who belonged to the LA Dodgers organization until September 2018, told ACN that everything is going perfectly in relation to repatriation procedures, which should be ready before the start of the next SNB season, scheduled for next August .
The Matanzas Crocodiles authorized me to start training with them, said Arruebarrena, who previously played for the Cienfuegos Elephants in SNB before his raid into American baseball.
If his presence is finally materialized with the Crocodiles, Arruebarruena would become the second former big leaguer to play in Cuba, after Yunieski Betancourt did it with Santa Clara, in the last Provincial Series of Villa Clara province.
Arruebarruena, 29, participated in 22 games in the majors in 2014, with batting average of .195 (8 hits in 41 at-bats), one double, four RBIs, three walks and 17 strikeouts.
