HAVANA, Cuba, May 9 (acn) Cuba will host the fourth stop of the 2019 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, scheduled to take place from May 10-12 at the Varadero beach resort with the participation of 16 women´s and 18 men´s pairs.
The locals will be the main attractions as the women´s duo of Leila Martinez and Daylen Delis earned three titles in the previous three stops of Mexico, Cayman Islands, and Nicaragua, while the men´s team made up by Sergio Gonzalez and Luis Reyes won silver, bronze and gold medals respectively in those same events.
Former ace player Mireya Luis, methodologist of the Cuban Volleyball Federation and vice president of the International Federation (FIVB) and the NORCECA Executive Committee, said that there will be games in the morning until but also in the evening.
Cuba will be represented by two other couples of each sex made up by Yanisleidis Sanchez and Lidiannis Benitez (women) and Yosvany Delgado - Karell Peña (men).
Canada, Cuba and the United States are the countries with the largest presence in Varadero, all with two pairs in the women´s and men´s events, which will be attended by 13 and 15 nations, in that order, according to the NORCECA website.
