Four Cubans to compete in rowing world cupHAVANA, Cuba, May 3 (acn) The pairs of Andriel Ajete-Jesus Alfonso and Yariulvis Cobas-Aimee Hernandez traveled to the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv, where they will compete in the World Cup I that opens the 2019 rowing season.

The two Cuban crews, Barranquilla 2018 CAC champions, will compete in the double scull events, Angel Luis Garcia, president of the Cuban Rowing Federation, told JIT sports publication.
This WC on Bulgarian soil will run from next May 10-12 and will be attended by more than 300 athletes from 24 nations, according to the website of the contest.
The list of prestigious rowers includes planetary stars like Croatian brothers Martin and Valent Sinkovic, Rio 2016 Olympic monarchs in the men´s double scull, and his countryman Damir Martin, runner up in the men´s single scull in that same tournament.
The Rowing World Cup began in 1997 and consists on a series of three events that this year will also have seats in Poznan, Poland (June 21-23), and Rotterdam, the Netherlands (July 12-14).
