HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 24 (acn) The third edition of the Men´s U19 Pan-American Volleyball Cup begins today in the Dominican Republic with the participation of seven nations of this continent.
The tournament, which will run until April 29, features the teams of Nicaragua, Guatemala, the DR and Cuba in group A, while Pool B includes Chile, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
The quarterfinals will be on Saturday with the second and third sides of each group; while on Sunday 28 will take place the semifinals, stage to which will directly qualify the leaders of their respective pools and the winners of the quarterfinals.
The medals discussion will take place on Monday 29, from where it will also emerge the two squads qualified to the World Championship to be held in Tunisia; with the exception of Cuba, which already earned its ticket and will use the contest as warm-up for that major event.
Today´s program includes the matches Nicaragua-Cuba, Puerto Rico-Chile and Guatemala-Dominican Republic.
