Cuban freestyle wrestlers failed to win a gold in Pan AmericanHAVANA, Cuba, Apr 22 (acn) Cuba won no title in the freestyle event of the 2019 Senior Pan-American Wrestling Championships that concluded last Sunday in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the Caribbean nation had a harvest of five gold medals.

In the last competitive day of that continental contest, the most outstanding Cuban athletes were Yowlys Bonne (61 kg), Damian Solenzal (65) and Reineris Salas (97), all winners of silver medals.
Bonne, Budapest 2018 world champion, was beaten 3-9 in the final by American Joseph Daniel Colon, whom he has defeated in semifinals in the aforementioned global contest.
In the case of Salas, twice universal silver runner-up, he achieved three wins in his previous bouts, but because of an injury could not face in the final American Kyle Snyder, Rio 2016 Olympic monarch.
While Solenzal, who was also unbeaten in three outings, also lost to a US athlete, Colton James, who defeated him 12- 1 in the final, according to the official website of the United World Wrestling (UWW).
Reineris Andreu (57), Lazaro Hernandez (86) and Oscar Pino (125), all won bronze medals; while Jorge Despaigne (74) was the only Cuban who didn't climb to the awards podium.
Previously, the Cuban men´s squad of the Greco-Roman style earned four gold, one silver and one bronze medal in these 2019 Senior Pan-American Wrestling Championships.
In addition, the Caribbean women´s freestyle team reached a harvest with a medal of each color, a little below what was expected.
