HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 18 (acn) The Barranquilla 2018 Central American and Caribbean monarchs Andy Pereira and Jorge Moises Campo will represent Cuba in the 2019 World Table Tennis Championship, based in the Hungarian city of Budapest, between April 21 to 28.
They will arrive at that European city from the German club Topspin, in which they had a training base, besides playing in club tournaments in Germany and Austria.
Pereira competes for the Austrian team Mauthausen and will be involved in his seventh world championship; meanwhile, Campo represents the team Kist of the German fourth division.
The first of them will finish the month of April in the 13th seat of the Latin American Table Tennis Union (LATTU), thanks to a total of 2,780 points and also appears 161st in the universal ranking.
His best achievement in the current season is the title in the 5th edition of the Yucatan Open.
Meanwhile, Campos ranks 20th in LATTU and with 1,890 units appears among the first 200 in the global list.
The 2019 World Table Tennis Championship will be attended by more than 570 players from 144 nations, with Chinese Fan Zhendong and Ding Ning as leaders of the world ranking in each sex.
