Cuban Sierra finished 14 in Gent-Wevelgem raceHAVANA, Cuba, Apr 1 (acn) Cuban Arlenis Sierra, captain of the Astana Women's Team, finished 14th in the Gent-Wevelgem, in Belgium, classic race of the 2019 UCI Women´s World Tour, attended by universal elite 24 squads.

The winner of the race was Dutch Kirsten Wild, winner of 14 medals in world championships, who five days ago also won the Bruges-De Panne, raced in this same European nation where she was followed by Dutch Lorena Wiebes and Italian Letizia Paternoster.
Wild became thus the first woman in winning twice this event as she also ranked first in the 2013 edition, while Sierra finished fourth last year.
After this performance, the Cuban cyclist earned four units and added 15 points for the UCI ranking.
Sierra was, as usual, the best ranked runner of the Kazakh-Italian club, which also lined up Italian Elena Pirrone, Mexican Yareli Salazar, Ukrainian Olha Shekel, Canadian Marie-Soleil Blais and Kazakh Makhabbat Umutzhanova.
