Cuban Sierra finished 9th in Belgium road cycling tourHAVANA, Cuba, Mar 29 (acn) Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra finished ninth in the Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne (Three Days of Bruges-De Panne), classic race of the UCI Women´s World Tour 2019, held in Belgium.

The 134.4km-stretch was the start of the season classic races of the World Tour which enrolls the toughest teams of the planet including Sierra´s squad, the Kazakh-Italian club Astana Women´s Team.
The race was won by Dutch Kirsten Wild (WNT-Rotor Pro Cycling), escorted by her countrywoman Lorena Wiebes (Parkhotel Vankenburg) and Belgian Lotte Kopecky (Lotto-Soudal Ladies), although Italian Marta Bastianelli (Team Virtu Cycling) remains leader of the World Tour.
The Astana Women´s team also includes in its ranks the also Cuban Heidy Praderas, 21, who is still gaining experience in the professional cycling, but this year she is already in the regular roster of the squad.
The next challenge of the two Cuban riders will be another Belgian race, the Gent-Wevelgem, to take place next March 31st.
Sierra, 26, won the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race last January and ranked third in the first stage of the Santos Women Tour and the Towards Zero Race, all in Australia,
