Cuba announces baseball team roster for next international events

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 13 (acn) The experienced manager Rey Vicente Anglada was appointed by the National Baseball Directorate to head the Cuban team that will participate in the baseball tournaments of the Pan American Games, in Lima, and the WBSC Premier 12, to take place this year both.
Managing is a challenge and doing it with the national team is much greater, I will do my best and even the impossible to achieve a good result, said Anglada, who returns to the national side 12 years after winning the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Anglada, who in 2006 also also qualified Cuba to the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008, will start training with a pre-selection of 63 players, divided into eight catchers, 18 infielders, 12 outfielders and 25 pitchers.
Yosvani Alarcon, Oscar Valdes, Frank Camilo Morejon, Andy Cosme, Ariel Martinez, Yendry Tellez, Alfredo Fadraga and Yunior Ibarra were chosen as catchers.
The infielders will be Yordanis Samon, Oscar Luis Colas (L), Yurien Vizcaino (L), Norel Gonzalez (L), Wilfredo Aroche (L), Sergio Barthelemi (L), Raul Gonzalez, Carlos Benitez, Maikel Caceres, Cesar Prieto (L), Yurisbel Gracial, Yordan Manduley, Alexander Ayala, Orlando Acebey, Ricardo Ramos, Andres Hernandez, William Saavedra and Jorge Aloma.
Anglada and his coaching staff will also work with outfielders Ariel Sanchez (L), Frederich Cepeda (S), Yoelkis Gibert (L), Alfredo Despaigne, Roel Santos (L), Geyser Cepeda, Jorge Yhonson (L), Yoelkis Cespedes, Joasan Guillen, Yunieski Larduet, Stayler Hernandez (L) and Robert Luis Delgado.
And in the roster of pitchers appear Lazaro Blanco, Yoanni Year (L), Vladimir Garcia, Freddy Asiel Alvarez, Alain Sanchez, Yariel Rodriguez, Frank Luis Medina, Yadian Martinez, Andy Rodriguez, Ulfrido Garcia (L), Yosimar Cousin, Wilson Paredes, Yandy Molina, Misael Villa (L), Yudiel Rodriguez (L), Livan Moinelo (L), Raidel Martinez, Pedro Alvarez, Rafael Sanchez, Dariel Gongora (L), Pablo Luis Guillen, Norge Carlos Vera, Yoen Socarras and Yanieski Duardo.
The Cuban national baseball pre-selection will begin its training at Havana´s Latinoamericano stadium next Monday.
