Sport unite Cuba and Qatar

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 13 (acn) A soccer game with children as protagonists was an ideal pretext to celebrate the National Day of Sports in Qatar, thus reflecting the excellent relations between that Asian country and Cuba.

Much joy in and outside the court located on Havana´s municipality of Playa was the best balance of a day that again demonstrated the virtues of physical activity at any age, but especially among infants.
«I am speechless at this activity, I realize that the Cuban people pay a lot of attention to sport», said the ambassador of that nation on the Caribbean island, Rashid Merza Al-Mulla, who shared there with PhD. Antonio Becali, president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER by its Spanish acronym).
«Since 2001, every second Tuesday of February is the Day of Sports in Qatar, and we turned it into a party in which everyone takes to the streets to do some kind of activity. All citizens participate, "stated the diplomat about an initiative that serves as a way to promote this healthy habit.
"This is an activity that has been taking place a few years ago, and last year included a marathon. It is a holiday for them and they have always tried to make it come to our country, "noted the Cuban official.
Local sports glories like former high jumper Javier Sotomayor and boxer Jorge Hernandez attended the match that left neither winners nor losers, but happier children, as their faces showed.
