Eight Cuban judokas depart for Paris Grand SlamHAVANA, Cuba, Feb 6 (acn) Led by Idalis Ortiz (+78 kilograms) and Ivan Silva (90), eight Cuban judokas will depart today for Europe to attend the Paris Grand Slam 2019, to run in France on February 9 and 10.

Along with Ortiz and Silva, world runners-up in Baku 2018, there will also be the women Nahomys Acosta (52), Maylin del Toro (63) and Kaliema Antomarchi (78), and the men Osniel Solís (66), Jose Armenteros (100) and Andy Granda (+100).
Their main goal is continuing training for the 2019 Pan Am Games, in Lima, and adding points for the ranking of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
This tough tournament will be attended by 609 judokas - 360 men and 249 women - from 98 countries, and the champions of the 14 divisions will earn a thousand points for the world ranking.
